Roman Eagle
Bas-relief of Roman Eagle at the “Basilica dei Santi XII Apostoli” in Rome. The ancient Roman stone probably comes from the findings of the Thermae of the Emperor Costantinus on the Quirinalis Hill or from the near Forum Traiani.
Mausoleum of Augustus
The Mausoleum[1] of Augustus was built by the Princeps Caius Octavius Caesar Augustus in 28 BC as a tomb for his family and himself. The Tomb of Augustus was built along the ancient via Flaminia (nowadays via del Corso) outside the perimeter of the city of Rome at that time (i.e. the pomerium).
In the Mausoleum – in addition to Augustus (who died in 14 CE) – were buried, amongst others, Marcus Vipsianus Agrippa, Drusus Maior (brother of Tiberius), Caius Caesar and Lucius Caesar (grandsons of Augustus, sons of Agrippa and Julia, Augustus’ daughter) and, after the death of Augustus, Livia (the Augustus’ wife), Germanicus (son of Drusus Maior), Caligula, Tiberius etc..

[1] The word “mausoleum” comes from the monumental tomb of Mausolus, King of Caria (a region of Anatolia). The tomb was built around the 350 BC by the Mausolus’ wife and sister, Artemisia II.
